Office of Economic Development Engage with Trade Associations
Engaging with trade associations opens doors for WSU researchers interested in partnering with industry, licensing technologies, or starting their own companies.
WSU is a member of Life Science Washington and CleanTech Alliance Washington, Washington’s leading trade associations in life sciences and cleantech. Both associations have major industry conferences in June that bring business leaders, investors, funding agencies, and research institutions together to advance innovation and job creation in these key economic sectors.

Trade Association Events

Researchers from WSU pursuing tech transfer and entrepreneurial opportunities have given poster and podium presentations at Life Science Innovation Northwest and CleanTech Showcase for the past few years. The conferences provide opportunities to practice your business pitch, meet other researchers who have pursued tech transfer or entrepreneurship, and find industry partners or investors. The events also provide volunteer opportunities for graduate students, allowing them to attend an equal amount of hours at the conference as they volunteered at no cost.
